Dr. Keith Compton
DDS, MS, Certified Fixed Prosthodontics, FADI
Dr. Compton completed his B.Sc. degree (1969) and D.D.S. degree (1973) at the University of Alberta. Dr. Compton was in private practice for 8 years before returning to graduate school in 1981. In 1983, he received a Certificate in Fixed Prosthodontics and in 1984 a Master of Science in Prosthodontics from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Most recently, Dr. Compton completed an Implant Dentistry Continuum Program with the University of Miami School of Medicine.
Dr. Compton is presently teaching undergraduate crown and bridge and dental implants at the University of Alberta to dental hygienists. He lectures nationally and internationally on various aspects of reconstructive prosthodontics including dental implants, myofacial pain dysfunction, and correction of severe trauma. He is currently developing continuing education programs to introduce dental implants to general dentists and runs a full time clinical practice, which is limited to prosthodontic care.
Dr. Compton’s family has been active in dentistry. His father was a dentist, his sister is a dental hygenist, his son graduated in dentistry and his wife, Dr. Sharon Compton, is the Director of Dental Hygiene at the University of Alberta. He has a very busy family life with three sons and one daughter. Sean is practicing dentistry in Victoria, Evan and Julia attend the University of Alberta, and Erik will be continuing his education overseas for an international law degree.

Dr. Sharon Compton
DipDH, B.Sc., M.A.(Ed),Ph.D.
Sharon is a registered dental hygienist and an administrative manager for Keith Compton Professional Corporation and Annapolis Dental Laboratory Limited.
Sharon was born in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia and made her way to western Canada when beginning her studies at the University of Alberta in 1978. In 1980, Sharon graduated from the Dental Hygiene Program and worked in clinical practice until returning to study and complete the degrees of Bachelor of Science and Master’s of Arts in Education. After the completion of her studies, Sharon began to teach at the Dental Hygiene Program at the University of Alberta in 1984. Sharon continued her studies from 1996-2002 and completed a PhD in the Faculty of Education.
Sharon accepted the role as Director in the Dental Hygiene Program at the University of Alberta in September, 2002.
Sharon and Keith have 3 children; Julia, Erik, and Evan . Sharon has been a committed runner and has completed numerous marathons including the Boston Marathon. Her current recreational challenge is to develop her golf game!
Karen
Business Manager
Karen graduated from the N.A.I.T. Medical Transcription Program and began working at the office in 1993 as a transcriptionist. She began as our transcriptionist and went on to be our full-time receptionist for many years until she started her family. She now works part-time doing various jobs including business administration.
Her time away from the office is kept busy caring for her two girls as well as visiting with friends and family. In the summer, she spends time at her family cabin at Pigeon Lake and training for running marathons.
Brittany
Cert. MTR, Patient Care & Financial Coordinator
Brittany joined our office in April 2006 as a practicum student from the Medical Transcription Program at NAIT. She spends most of her time in the back office coordinating patient treatment, but can be seen every now and then helping patients and staff at the front end.
On a personal note, in her spare time Brittany enjoys running and taking continuing education courses.
Tricia
Business Administrator
Tricia started at our office in May 2007 after graduating from the Medical Transcription program at Nait. Tricia works part time as our Transcriptionist.
On a personal note, Tricia is married and has one daughter. She enjoys travelling, camping, and spending time with family and friends.

Laszlo
Dental Laboratory Technician, Ceramist
Laszlo graduated from NAIT in 1997. This same year he started to specialize in the crown and bridge aspect of dental laboratory work. He became experienced in a wide range of porcelain restorations; creating beautiful restorations which utilize bridges, crowns or natural abutments and implants of different systems. Laszlo is proud to be part of the Compton team so he can help people enjoy a natural and beautiful smile.
In his spare time Laszlo enjoys fishing, running, and traveling.
Izabel
Dental Technician
Izabela graduated from Medical Technology College in Poland in 1990. She has gained 20 years of experience working in the dental industry specializing in dentures. She is very skilled in her profession and considered as one of the best in the field. Izabela’s strengths include construction of complete dentures as well as cast and acrylic partial dentures. Izabela is always cheerful and is very liked by all the patients and her peers.
In her spare time, Izabela enjoys spending time with her husband and their three daughters. She loves to travel, downhill ski and watch a good movie.
Renata
Models Technician
Renata joined our Laboratory staff in January 2010, as a Model Technician but can be found helping in all areas of the office. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, as well as doing fitness classes, skiing, and traveling.
Dental Hygenists
Christine
BSc, RDH
Christine joined Dr. Compton’s team in 2002 after completing her Bachelor of Science, specializing in Dental Hygiene, with distinction at the University of Alberta.
Christine has experienced a variety of dental procedures as a patient due to a motor vehicle accident many years ago. She can relate to patients fears, anxieties, and can help to answer the many questions that arise throughout treatment. She has attended numerous international conferences on dentistry, focusing on dental implantology. Christine lectured to the College of Registered Dental Hygienists on Dental Hygiene & Implant Therapy in 2008. She has provided many lectures as well as has been a clinical instructor at the University of Alberta Dental Hygiene Program prior to becoming a busy mom.
On a personal note, Christine enjoys spending time with her family with a young son that keeps her very busy. She will be away on maternity leave with her second child starting April 2010.

Kasha
RDA II
Kasha graduated from KDM College with her Dental Assisting Certificate in February 2003. She joined the office as Dr. Compton’s assistant in the spring of 2004 and has found working here very rewarding. The complexity of treatment provided along with the high standard of care ensures a dull moment never passes. Although her primary duty is to chair side assist with Dr. Compton, Kasha is also responsible for ordering materials and staying up to date with all of the new advances in prosthetic dentistry.
Kasha is most notable for her distinct giggle which is commonly heard while with patient’s and Dr. Compton. Her cheerful personality can help remove some anxieties for patients that are apprehensive to dental treatment.
On a personal note, Kasha moved to Canada from Poland as a child and is still very fluent in polish. Her hobbies include horseback riding, basketball and in her spare time watching movies. She was married July 2006 and has 2 young children.
Mallory
RDA II
Mallory came to the Compton team from a town in Southern Alberta, named Stirling. She attended KDM College in Calgary and graduated in 2006. Mallory enjoys interacting with patients and helping them feel like they are not in a dentist’s chair. She enjoys her job and it shows, through her contributions to the office’s fun atmosphere!
On a personal note Mallory enjoys being with friends, outdoor activities, water sports, and would love to travel the world someday!
